Rachel turned 4
Time flies and Rachel is already now 4 years old. Initially was wondering how to celebrate for her. About 2 weeks before her birthday, I asked Rachel where and how she wants to celebrate this year. She told me that she wanted to celebrate at my void deck with her friends and also at school. She chose void deck because there was place for the children to play and the playground is nearby. I thought, not a bad idea. Can order buffet and invite my friends and a few of my relatives. :) Rachel too, wanted to invite her younger cousins over. But then, my mother opposed to it. Reason given was no body to invite and so troublesome.
So next, I told Rachel that Ah-ma opposed to having the party at void deck, which is the next place she wants to hold her party. Answer : Coffeeshop lor. My friends everyday also go down. We can ride our bicycle at the basketball court or go over to the playground. Ah-ma everyday also there. So that's it. Birthday party at coffeeshop.
I told my sister and brother that the birthday party for Rachel is to be held on 21 Oct '07, 6.30pm at Blk 498 Coffeeshop. Their response was : Huh? Kopitiam???? Ok lor.... I also invited Rachel's friends who are my mum's friend's daughters. So for this Birthday Party, there were only 4 kids attending it - Rachel, Jonathan, Rachel (friend) and her sister Vivian. :) The rest were Uncles, Aunties, Ah- Gongs and Ah - Mas (all Grandma's friends) ;P
I bought 1 Roast Duck, a good portion of Roast Pork, ordered chicken wings, nuggets, sausages, french fries, Seafood Fried Rice, Fried HongKong noddle and Xing Zhou Mee Hoon and an ice cream cake with the Disney Princess picture. Initially my mum kept telling me, no need to order so much lah.. i never tell a lot of people. Only told a FEW uncles and aunties only. In the end, the turn out: 4 kids 15 adults (including me and my mum). The staff at the Zi chai, western food and drinks stall came over and asked whose birthday were we celebrating and even gave us discount. :P Not too bad... Then my mum, being so popular at the coffeeshop due to the long hours sitting and gossiping there, seemed to know everyone who passed by. The moment she saw one of her friends, she will invite them to sit down and eat. Sigh.. Not enough food and got to order another Fried HongKong noddle.
Although it was just a small gathering more than party, Rachel enjoyed herself. She got a big Barney from my sis' bf, 1 set of "barbie" toys and ang pows.. And of all the presents, her favourite was the Barney, and it's now taking a portion of my bed. At night, I asked if she was happy with her "party", she told me yes! Very Happy! Very nice!
On her actual birth date, she got another small celebration in school. Just ordered a Hello Kitty design, strawberry flavour cake from Polar for her. It was also a gift from my sister for her birthday. Her teacher told me to reach the school best before 3pm, but that morning, I had a last minute appointment at Ang Mo Kio Techpark. At first still thought that there was enough time, just to meet the client to sign the documents and go. Who knows, stupid client, delayed the whole thing and by the time I stepped out of their office, it was already 12pm.
I dropped by Eve's house to have lunch with her as well as to collect her present for Rachel. Had a quick lunch with her and rushed off to collect the cake. My God! I reached Jurong Point at 2.45pm and ran all the way down to Polar counter to collect the cake. The staff told me to wait as she need to go to the fridge to get the cake out. I told her to be quick as I need to reach the school by 3pm. Got the cake like 5 mins later because the staff was taking her own sweet time to collect the cake. Managed to get a cab without waiting and rushed to the school. Reached the school at 3pm sharp. The children were just waking up from their afternoon nap.
When Rachel woke up, kept her mattress, she turned and saw me. She started jumping and clinging on to me. She was told by her teacher to sit at the table while the rest were to sit at their class. The seats at the table was arranged by the teacher according to their behaviour. When her friends saw the Hello Kitty cake, they all commented that it was very nice and Rachel was so proud of it. :) Then they started singing the birthday song in English and Chinese and Rachel cut the cake. For her school celebration, there was no candles and she has blown it on Sunday. My mum insisted that birthday candle can only blow once so no choice, and Rachel agreed to it earlier.
Rachel's teacher cut a piece of cake and told her to gave it to me as well as thank me for buying her this cake. When Rachel presented that first piece of cake and thanked me, I felt so happy, pleased and proud of her. :D That piece of cake just taste extremely sweet. :) Her friends said that the cake was very nice and most of them had second helpings except of Rachel. All along, she don't really like cakes but then she likes the cream. Her teacher scooped up the balance cream for her and she finished them! So creamy!!
After the short tea break celebration, Rachel refused to attend her Chinese class. She wanted to go home with me. I told her that I will picked her up 1 hour later, she started tearing. Seeing her like that, I also relented and told her only for that day as it was her special day. The rest of the days, no such things. She immediately put away her cup, collect her water bottle and was jumping up and down, saying goodbyes to her friends and teachers. So off she went home with me. Dinner was at coffeeshop again, just a simple dinner.
Now when people asked her how old is she, she will replied very proudly : Last time I'm Three but now I'm Four! :)

Rachel's School Performance
Rachel's Childcare centre held their School Kindergarten Graduation cum Family Get-Together last sat, 29 September 2007, at Japanese Garden Rest House.
We were quite worried about Rachel as last year performance, she just stood straight on the stage, scratching her head. She was very nervous and scared at the big crowd then. Luckily, this year was different. Phew!
On Saturday itself, she woke up at 7-ish am and told me that she wanted her milk and changed quickly to go to school as she was having her school performance that day. Told her that school won't be open till later in the afternoon. They were told to reach the school by 1.45pm on that day. She was very excited that day.
Around 12pm, we brought her to school, thinking could change and do her make up in the school. Who knows, none of the teachers were there! I think they reached there only at 1pm. No choice, we brought Rachel back home to change and make up for her. Of cos, her make up was done by my mum. Friends who know me, will know that I don't put on makeup. :P
Before Rachel's performance, we (me and my mum) kept telling her that she has to dance, and not stand on the stage "gong gong' like last year. And we also told her that if she dance on stage, we will bring her to Jurong Point as reward. Hee! Hee! Hee! Even my sister and her boyfriend, Uncle Blackie, came to give her their support. My sister hor, never attended any of her son's performance, yet can apply for leave to watch Rachel perform... So touch man! :P Ha ha ha
About 15 minutes before Rachel's performance, the kids played and push a little and next thing was a kid was crying. That kid happened to be RACHEL.. sigh.. she said her friend, Yi wei, hit her and Yi wei said that she already apologized to Rachel. sigh.. how to control a bunch of kids outdoor?
Luckily for Rachel, she turned her tear tap on and off real fast. So within minutes she stopped crying and some of her make up gone too. When she was onstage, she started looking around the crowd for us. Once the music started, she started dancing. :D Her performance is just slightly more than 2 minutes. After her performance, I think she was too tired. She was the only one sitting at the seats allocated while the rest were running about. My mum went over and passed her a bottle of mineral water and a packet of biscuit, so she just sat there alone, eating her biscuits.
After another 2 performances by the K1 and K2 students, all the students went up on stage for Grand Finale performance - singing of their school song, Que Sera Sera and a chinese song - Wai Po de Pen Hu Wan. After the songs, there was a break of like 15 mins and we went around taking pictures.
After the pictures taking, we went back to the Rest House. Now the teachers were stationed in their own counter - there's a Hand Henna Counter, Nail Painting Counter, Fishing Counter and a Catch the Ball Counter. Well, it's not FOC though. We got to buy tickets for the games - $1 each. My sister's bf bought 3 tickets, 1 ticket was for Rachel to play the games and the other 2 for food. My mum also bought another ticket for food. So, Rachel got her right hand henna by her favourite and form teacher, Teacher Renna, nails painted by Teacher Punna. She got tried the fishing game. At around 5.15pm, there was a lucky draw by the school. We won 3 prizes out of the 4 tickets bought. Ha ha ha! Even the school principal announced.. Oh! So lucky! It's Rachel's mummy again! :D The prizes we won were just a small gestures type. We won a Simplex Build and Play, a box of Rocher and a paper clip stand.
By the time we reached home at 6pm, we were all dead tired. Both Rachel and me took a nap and at 8pm, we were out again out for a dinner with my mum's friends. Here's a video of Rachel's dance performance, but sorry pals.. it's a bit shaky and no music. Blame my brother for buying such a lousy camera. Anyway, have told him, it's time to upgrade our digital camera. :)

My trip to Beijing
My boss qualified for 3 tickets to Beijing this August and he was very generous as to give 1 of his ticket to me. That's how I got a free 5D 4 N trip to Beijing. :) Not sure if it's a good thing becos 2 weeks before the trip, I got to work like shit! But I really enjoyed the trip as I got to see and leart a lot of their history.
My office driver came to fetch me up at 6.10am on Mon (17 Sept '07) to the Airport. My God! He was half an hour late when he picked me up. Claimed that he couldn't find the place but when I gave him the directions to my place, he claimed that he was back at the same spot. This type of people just don't know how to lie... sigh.. After picking me up, rushed to pick my boss and after which to pick his Mentor cum boss at Joo Chiat and headed straight down to Airport. We were supposed to reach the airport by 6.50am but we reached there around 7.10am. Still not that bad as my driver was driving all the way at the speed of 110.
Took SQ flight to Beijing.. Good service as usual. But we met 3 turbulence on the way to Beijing. It was quite bad and scary and it happened during our meal onboard. Thank God, we managed to reach Beijing safely and on time at 3pm. Their Airport was quite small and it was not air-conditioned. Weather was very hazy then and it was around 24 Degree Celsius. We got to travel for 1 hour in order to reach our Hotel - Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing. It is a new hotel, around 30 mins walk to Forbidden City, 10 mins to Wangfujing Shi Jie (Roadside stalls).
By the time we reached our Hotel, checked-in, freshen up, we were out for our appreciation dinner at Diaoyutai State Guest House. Nice scenery but when we arrived there at 8pm, it was raining and quite dark. Don't want to take the risk of taking photos out in dark in case I see "something". ;P. The Guesthouse is renowned for the culinary feats of its kitchens. But then, maybe it was not up to my taste buds.. not really fancy the food. Mostly were soups, at the end of the meal, you will find that your stomach is bloated with water. :( After dinner, we went back to the hotel to put our door gift, which was one of the Olympics Fu Wa. I met up again with my boss, 5 of my colleagues and another 3 FAs from other coys to go drinking. We went to a pub called Suzy Wong, which is just like our Mdm Wong here but on a smaller scale. A lot of Ang Mohs in there, sound system sucks. We finished a bottle of Chivas, 2 bottles of beer in like 2 hours and we headed back to hotel for the night as we had to wake up early the next day.
Day 2, we went to the Insurer's business office for a visit. No choice, we got to go as this was TM AsiaLife's incentive trip. We were there for like 2 hrs and during their speech, I was dozing away. ;P After the visit, we went for our Peking Duck Lunch. Every dishes were cooked using Duck. Just the Peking Duck itself, we had 2 and a half duck to each table. Scared of eating duck after that. After lunch, we started our first sight-seeing trip - Tian Tan (Temple of Heaven). It is much bigger than the Forbidden City and smaller than the Summer Palace, built during the Ming Dynasty for the Emperor to offer sacrifice to Heaven. When I walked into the Temple, I was so shocked by how big compound was. We were also showed the place where the Emperor will stand and pray to the Heaven. After Tian Tan, it was time for dinner. Travelling again took 1 hr to reach the place. This time round, we went for an Imperial Dinner at Beihai Park. Another fantastic park with scenery. Food wise, sucks again. They piled the dishes up as if they were feeding pigs. After the dinner, back to hotel again. Met my boss at the lobby as he did not attend the dinner earlier. He got to go down to the Airport to make payment for his air ticket as he has to come back to Sin latest on Friday morning. We decided to go to Yaxiu Shopping Centre for shopping. When we reached the shopping centre, it was already 8.15pm. We didn't realised that shopping centres in Beijing actually close at 9pm! So early!! * sob sob* Didn't get to shop much then. Only went to 3 stores and grab whatever fits me. Bought 1 Olympic Polo shirt, 2 sets of Chinese Silk clothes for Jonathan and Rachel and 2 knitted tops for myself. Since the shop closed at 9pm, we decided to go to their Wangfujing Food street for supper. For myself, I don't dare to eat at those roadside stall for fear of stomach upset later. Seeing the rest eating so deliciously, I did try to take a few spoonful of the soup. Nice, spicy and hot. :9 After the supper, we headed back to the hotel, and the rest went for their part 3 programme - massage, I went back to my room to rest for the night.
Day 3, we climbed the Great Wall of China (Juyongguan Pass) which is 72 km, which is also the shortest of The Wall. Well, while in Singapore, I'm already exhausted when I climbed the overhead bridge! Of course, I did try to reach the 1st Tower! Bravo! Initially when we walked up the slope, we were still shooting video, taking pictures and still joking. Less than half way up, we were panting like a dog, holding on to the side bar and dragged ourselves up. One of my colleagues, Jessica, was so comical. She actually brought a tripod stand, cosmetic bag, vitamins pills all in her bag up the Great Wall. She had a bad time climbing up of course. We joked that she wanted to build the Great Wall. And that she brought along bricks and cement so that when she reached the Tower, she can put her own bricks there. :) The scenery there is really awesome! So beautiful... When we were up at Tower 1, we started to wonder how did the soldiers climbed up with their armour on and carrying all those weapons? Must be really a tough job!
After the Great Wall of China, we went to the Ming Tomb. That's where the 13 Emperors of the Ming Dynasty were buried. Well, not sure if our Guide was scared to go in or what as she mentioned that the place is very 'Yin". We did not get the chance to really explore the whole place. She only merely showed us in to the Museum to see what was buried with the Emperors. Me and 2 other advisers, Jessica and Celia, went to explore on our own. We went up to the Soul Tower, joined in other tour groups where their tour guides were giving an explanation of the place. Before we left the Soul Tower, there's a Chinese practice which all must follows.. That is, to stamp our feet hard on the ground, cross over the barrier (guy - left foot, ladies - right foot first) and shout as loud as you can : I'm back (in Chinese) and never turn back. According to them, this is to tell your soul that you are going back home.
After Ming Tomb, we went for Foot Reflexology in a Sports School. They claimed that they only massage the States' athletes but due to the building of the new Olympic Stadium, all the athletes were transferred to other places to train. So for the time being, this centre is open to tourist. During the massage, they will try to sell you their herbs bag and services, e.g. removal of dead skin, corns, clearing of fungus nails etc. Cost is only 60 RMB (S$12). I did the removal of dead skin and I'm very satisfied with the end result. After the Foot Reflexology, we went for Shanxi Dinner. Overall, I find the meal very salty. Got to drink lots of water after the meals.
On the 3rd night, we went to Hou Hai, which is like our Boat Quay. Except that the weather is much much cooler in Beijing and you wont feel sticky after sitting there for your drinks. We had a bottle of Red Wine. I took less than half a glass of it as I'm not a Red Wine drinker. We paid 100 RMB each for the Wine and snacks. That's quite cheap. After the Wine, we went to Queen at Worker's Stadium to join my Boss for drinks and dance. I don't really like that place as it was playing Techno type of songs. We finished a bottle of Martelle quite fast and ordered another 5 bottles of Heineken. By the time we finished all the drinks, it was only 2am and we headed back to the Hotel as the disco closed at 2.30am.
Day 4 we went to Forbidden City. Beautiful and majestic place! Really envy the Emperor and their family... staying in such a huge place, and the Empress and Concubines, nothing to do whole day! According to our tour guide, the only show that was filmed in Forbidden City itself is "The Last Emperor". Actually, there's nothing much to see inside. Went in through The Meridian Gate, Wumen in Chinese (southern entrance of the Forbidden City). Once inside, you will see 5 bridges with a courtyard beyond. We walked throught the central bridge that was used exclusively by the emperor. So on that particular day, we were all Emperor and Empress. After that we saw Zhonghedian (The Hall of Central Harmony), Baohedian (The Hall of Preserved Harmony), the huge marble relief of nine dragons playing with pearls. Pass through Qianqingmen (The Gate of Celestial Purity) we will see Qianqinggong (The Palace of Celestial Purity) which was the sleeping quarters of the emperors. After that Kunninggong (Palace of Terrestrial tranquility) which was empress' bedroom. newly wed emperor and empress lived in the East Warmth Chamber of this palace for just a few days. After this time, the emperor would move to the Hall of Mental Cultivation and the empress would move to another palace. The emperor's bridal suite in the East Warmth Chamber was painted red and the palace lamps were decorated with red Double Happiness symbols to create a warm and happy atmosphere. Next was the Yuhuayuan (the Imperial Garden) and just behind the garden end of the garden is Shenwumen, the Gate of Divine Might and the rear exit from the Forbidden City. When the last Emperor, Pu Yi, was driven out of the Palace, he left through this gate. Just for visiting the above places, just to look / see and take pictures, it already took us 2 hours.
After leaving the Forbidden City, we head straight to Summer Palace for our lunch and tour. This garden was built during the Jin and Qing Dynasty. the rampages of the Anglo-French allied force and was destroyed by fire. In 1888, Empress Dowager Cixi embezzled navy funds to reconstruct it for her own benefit, changing its name to Summer Palace (Yiheyuan). She spent most of her later years there, dealing with state affairs and entertaining. In 1900, it suffered again, being ransacked by the Eight-Power Allied Force. ans subsequently it was opened to the public. This place is famous for it's Long Gallery (728 m) and the different painting along it. We also took a boat ride out in the Kunming Lake. During Winter time, the Lake becomes Beijing's biggest ice-skating ring! After the boat ride, we managed to take a look of how Li Lian Ying, Empress Dowager Cixi's fav Eunuch's room look like. It's a very very small room! Guess what? Over at Summer Palace, I met my mum's friends! They were there for their holidays too! I bought a bag from their Souvenior Shop, costing only RMB 45 (S$9). :)
After the tour, we were supposed to go to TeaHouse. Another place where the Guide get to earn their commissions. As I have told my Director, Yoke Koon, the night before that my roommate and I will not be joining this TeaHouse trip as I prefer to go shopping, he decided that the whole group of us dropped off from here. Hurray! Finally get to do my shopping. We took a cab to Xidan, their local shopping centre. Their clothes there just don't suits me.. so ah lian! We took our dinner at MacDonald and took a train to Dongsishitiao which is near to another shopping centre, Yaxiu. Over there, I managed to buy Rachel and Jon a pairs of shoes, jeans for myself and they were about to close shop! My God! Can't they just close later???? :(
Since they were closing up, we got no choice but to go back to our Hotel to meet our Director for supper. When we met up, he said that he was not going to join us for supper, so the 4 of us (me, Jessica - my roommate, Wendy and Jason - couple) went to Gui jie for BBQ food. Fantastic and simply delicious. Especially their BBQ Mushroom. We ordered like 20 sticks of BBQ - beef, squid, mushrooms, meat balls, Chou Dou Fu, and 2 plates of the Shan Bei.. it cost only RMB 130 (S$26) only!! After supper, we went back to the hotel to pack up for departure the next day.
When I reach my hotel room, there was a note to us saying that on Day 5, our departure day, we will check out early at 9.30am and proceed to Yaxiu for 2 hours of shopping before heading down to the Airport. I was so happy then.. another 2 hours of shopping. On day 5, I bought 2 sets of pants & shirts for Jon, 1 Snow White long pants, 2 dresses, 3 t-shirts, a pair of Puma shoes for Rachel, a bag for my mum and a pair of Puma shoes (same design as Rachel's) for myself. Time's up, happily left Yaxiu for Airport.
Flight back to Sin was at 4pm, so after check-in, we went for a quick lunch and me, continued my shopping at their Olympics shop. Bought 2 t-shirts and some magnets back for my family. :) So fast, 5 days trip gone just like that. During these 5 days, I got to know one of our Directors, Yoke Koon, and other advisers, Celia, Jessica, Wendy, Sydney, Noel, Xiangling and Kelvin. Except for Yoke Koon, who is 2 yrs older than me, the rest are all younger than me! My God! I felt so old to be with them. :( Also, with these group of people, I can also see who my boss likes and don't likes. Well, too bad I have been mixing with the group of people whom he don't like during the trip. :) To me, I find them much more fun to be with, as we had our own drinking session and joking around with no boundaries in Beijing.
I'm glad to be back home with my darling Rachel. How I missed her! Luckily she called me every night and I got to hear her voice. I woke her up when I reached home at around 11pm. She was happily ransacking and clearing my luggage bag for her gifts! Well, home sweet home is still the best!
My office driver came to fetch me up at 6.10am on Mon (17 Sept '07) to the Airport. My God! He was half an hour late when he picked me up. Claimed that he couldn't find the place but when I gave him the directions to my place, he claimed that he was back at the same spot. This type of people just don't know how to lie... sigh.. After picking me up, rushed to pick my boss and after which to pick his Mentor cum boss at Joo Chiat and headed straight down to Airport. We were supposed to reach the airport by 6.50am but we reached there around 7.10am. Still not that bad as my driver was driving all the way at the speed of 110.
Took SQ flight to Beijing.. Good service as usual. But we met 3 turbulence on the way to Beijing. It was quite bad and scary and it happened during our meal onboard. Thank God, we managed to reach Beijing safely and on time at 3pm. Their Airport was quite small and it was not air-conditioned. Weather was very hazy then and it was around 24 Degree Celsius. We got to travel for 1 hour in order to reach our Hotel - Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing. It is a new hotel, around 30 mins walk to Forbidden City, 10 mins to Wangfujing Shi Jie (Roadside stalls).
By the time we reached our Hotel, checked-in, freshen up, we were out for our appreciation dinner at Diaoyutai State Guest House. Nice scenery but when we arrived there at 8pm, it was raining and quite dark. Don't want to take the risk of taking photos out in dark in case I see "something". ;P. The Guesthouse is renowned for the culinary feats of its kitchens. But then, maybe it was not up to my taste buds.. not really fancy the food. Mostly were soups, at the end of the meal, you will find that your stomach is bloated with water. :( After dinner, we went back to the hotel to put our door gift, which was one of the Olympics Fu Wa. I met up again with my boss, 5 of my colleagues and another 3 FAs from other coys to go drinking. We went to a pub called Suzy Wong, which is just like our Mdm Wong here but on a smaller scale. A lot of Ang Mohs in there, sound system sucks. We finished a bottle of Chivas, 2 bottles of beer in like 2 hours and we headed back to hotel for the night as we had to wake up early the next day.
Day 2, we went to the Insurer's business office for a visit. No choice, we got to go as this was TM AsiaLife's incentive trip. We were there for like 2 hrs and during their speech, I was dozing away. ;P After the visit, we went for our Peking Duck Lunch. Every dishes were cooked using Duck. Just the Peking Duck itself, we had 2 and a half duck to each table. Scared of eating duck after that. After lunch, we started our first sight-seeing trip - Tian Tan (Temple of Heaven). It is much bigger than the Forbidden City and smaller than the Summer Palace, built during the Ming Dynasty for the Emperor to offer sacrifice to Heaven. When I walked into the Temple, I was so shocked by how big compound was. We were also showed the place where the Emperor will stand and pray to the Heaven. After Tian Tan, it was time for dinner. Travelling again took 1 hr to reach the place. This time round, we went for an Imperial Dinner at Beihai Park. Another fantastic park with scenery. Food wise, sucks again. They piled the dishes up as if they were feeding pigs. After the dinner, back to hotel again. Met my boss at the lobby as he did not attend the dinner earlier. He got to go down to the Airport to make payment for his air ticket as he has to come back to Sin latest on Friday morning. We decided to go to Yaxiu Shopping Centre for shopping. When we reached the shopping centre, it was already 8.15pm. We didn't realised that shopping centres in Beijing actually close at 9pm! So early!! * sob sob* Didn't get to shop much then. Only went to 3 stores and grab whatever fits me. Bought 1 Olympic Polo shirt, 2 sets of Chinese Silk clothes for Jonathan and Rachel and 2 knitted tops for myself. Since the shop closed at 9pm, we decided to go to their Wangfujing Food street for supper. For myself, I don't dare to eat at those roadside stall for fear of stomach upset later. Seeing the rest eating so deliciously, I did try to take a few spoonful of the soup. Nice, spicy and hot. :9 After the supper, we headed back to the hotel, and the rest went for their part 3 programme - massage, I went back to my room to rest for the night.
Day 3, we climbed the Great Wall of China (Juyongguan Pass) which is 72 km, which is also the shortest of The Wall. Well, while in Singapore, I'm already exhausted when I climbed the overhead bridge! Of course, I did try to reach the 1st Tower! Bravo! Initially when we walked up the slope, we were still shooting video, taking pictures and still joking. Less than half way up, we were panting like a dog, holding on to the side bar and dragged ourselves up. One of my colleagues, Jessica, was so comical. She actually brought a tripod stand, cosmetic bag, vitamins pills all in her bag up the Great Wall. She had a bad time climbing up of course. We joked that she wanted to build the Great Wall. And that she brought along bricks and cement so that when she reached the Tower, she can put her own bricks there. :) The scenery there is really awesome! So beautiful... When we were up at Tower 1, we started to wonder how did the soldiers climbed up with their armour on and carrying all those weapons? Must be really a tough job!
After the Great Wall of China, we went to the Ming Tomb. That's where the 13 Emperors of the Ming Dynasty were buried. Well, not sure if our Guide was scared to go in or what as she mentioned that the place is very 'Yin". We did not get the chance to really explore the whole place. She only merely showed us in to the Museum to see what was buried with the Emperors. Me and 2 other advisers, Jessica and Celia, went to explore on our own. We went up to the Soul Tower, joined in other tour groups where their tour guides were giving an explanation of the place. Before we left the Soul Tower, there's a Chinese practice which all must follows.. That is, to stamp our feet hard on the ground, cross over the barrier (guy - left foot, ladies - right foot first) and shout as loud as you can : I'm back (in Chinese) and never turn back. According to them, this is to tell your soul that you are going back home.
After Ming Tomb, we went for Foot Reflexology in a Sports School. They claimed that they only massage the States' athletes but due to the building of the new Olympic Stadium, all the athletes were transferred to other places to train. So for the time being, this centre is open to tourist. During the massage, they will try to sell you their herbs bag and services, e.g. removal of dead skin, corns, clearing of fungus nails etc. Cost is only 60 RMB (S$12). I did the removal of dead skin and I'm very satisfied with the end result. After the Foot Reflexology, we went for Shanxi Dinner. Overall, I find the meal very salty. Got to drink lots of water after the meals.
On the 3rd night, we went to Hou Hai, which is like our Boat Quay. Except that the weather is much much cooler in Beijing and you wont feel sticky after sitting there for your drinks. We had a bottle of Red Wine. I took less than half a glass of it as I'm not a Red Wine drinker. We paid 100 RMB each for the Wine and snacks. That's quite cheap. After the Wine, we went to Queen at Worker's Stadium to join my Boss for drinks and dance. I don't really like that place as it was playing Techno type of songs. We finished a bottle of Martelle quite fast and ordered another 5 bottles of Heineken. By the time we finished all the drinks, it was only 2am and we headed back to the Hotel as the disco closed at 2.30am.
Day 4 we went to Forbidden City. Beautiful and majestic place! Really envy the Emperor and their family... staying in such a huge place, and the Empress and Concubines, nothing to do whole day! According to our tour guide, the only show that was filmed in Forbidden City itself is "The Last Emperor". Actually, there's nothing much to see inside. Went in through The Meridian Gate, Wumen in Chinese (southern entrance of the Forbidden City). Once inside, you will see 5 bridges with a courtyard beyond. We walked throught the central bridge that was used exclusively by the emperor. So on that particular day, we were all Emperor and Empress. After that we saw Zhonghedian (The Hall of Central Harmony), Baohedian (The Hall of Preserved Harmony), the huge marble relief of nine dragons playing with pearls. Pass through Qianqingmen (The Gate of Celestial Purity) we will see Qianqinggong (The Palace of Celestial Purity) which was the sleeping quarters of the emperors. After that Kunninggong (Palace of Terrestrial tranquility) which was empress' bedroom. newly wed emperor and empress lived in the East Warmth Chamber of this palace for just a few days. After this time, the emperor would move to the Hall of Mental Cultivation and the empress would move to another palace. The emperor's bridal suite in the East Warmth Chamber was painted red and the palace lamps were decorated with red Double Happiness symbols to create a warm and happy atmosphere. Next was the Yuhuayuan (the Imperial Garden) and just behind the garden end of the garden is Shenwumen, the Gate of Divine Might and the rear exit from the Forbidden City. When the last Emperor, Pu Yi, was driven out of the Palace, he left through this gate. Just for visiting the above places, just to look / see and take pictures, it already took us 2 hours.

August Genting Trip
Ha ha ha... Another Genting trip for us. It seems like Genting is our second home.. Going there once every 2 - 3 months.. :) Even Rachel knows the way to the Arcade and the Indoor Theme Park Rides.
This trip there, we went via Grassland's Coach. The seats are not comfortable at all. On our trip back, worst! The 2 Indian drivers, were like in a hurry to reach Singapore. We were given only 25 mins for our toilet break, dinner and shopping. The drivers were always hurrying us to get back to the bus so that they could drive off. There was a lady seated behind me. When I board the bus, I tried to lower the seat so that we can seat more comfortably. While I was adjusting my seat, she made some "tsk" sound. Was so fed up with her and so I told my mum who was seated behind us loudly, "Everyone on the bus can lower their seat, except me, B****y H**l!" While talking to my mum, I even turned my head to look at the woman. She stared at me for a while, and as usual, I will also stare back! Thank God that I do have big eyes! :)
After a while, I was really uncomfortable and I adjusted the seat and ignored that woman. As usual, she made the "tsk" sound. After I adjusted the seat, I turned back and the "golden words" flowed out of my mouth (for those who know me long enough will understand the type of "golden words" that I will say ;P) and I went back to continued my sleep. Can't be bothered with her also.
When we reached the Malaysia Custom, the driver told us to get back to the bus immediately after we got our passport stamped. One of the children, ran and hit the post. Blood immediately flowed down from her forehead. Her mum was frantically trying to stop the blood from flowing. Guess what? The driver went over to them, told them to board the bus now as the whole bus was waiting for them! Cannot imagine the driver to say such things! Upon reaching Singapore Custom, worst! The driver just opened the luggage door and walked off to clear the Customs without helping us to carry down the luggages. The drivers were just too lazy to bother with the passengers!
This trip up to Genting, I didn't bring any of Rachel's medication along as she was so energetic and seems unlikely to fall sick. Who knows? On our way up, she was having fever! When we reached Genting, she was feeling very restless and a bit of breathing difficulty. Initially, I thought of just going down to Watson to buy the Panadol for Children to give it to her first. After that I had second thoughts of it as once Rachel has fever, it will dragged on for days and I was scared that she may have the Ferbile Seizure again. So I brought her to the Clinic at First World Hotel. The doctor said that she was having a fever at 38 Degree Celsius and also was having throat inflammation. She prescribed Antibiotics and Ibuprofen for Rachel. Luckily by the second day, Rachel was up and running about. Everyone said that she has recovered as she was completely different from the first day. :) I told my mum, next time must bring her medication. I got a shocked when the nurse told me that the cost of the consultation was RM$100! After that I went to Watson to buy a Forehead Thermometer which cost me RM$8.50. Small and handy for travelling. :) My cousin said that when I reached there, I already lost RM$108! Must made back the money. ;P
Luckily, I did win back the money plus extra. :) Normally, I will played Roulette. After observing the game a while, I changed cash for chips and bet on the Rachel's numbers as usual. Luckily it came out and won a little. :) It was her birth date as well as her consultation queue number. Sigh.. regretting not betting more chips on that number. :( After a few games, I started losing and told my auntie that I'm not playing already. Going to play Jackpot. We both went for supper at the Casino first and went to play Jackpot and I won RM$500. I struck their mini Jackpot once. Only RM$70+. Told my aunt, enough already. Time to sleep as it was already 4am! Went to play again before we checked out. Initially won another RM$500 and continued to play on. At the end, only won RM$200 and quickly went off. But then did struck their mini Jackpot twice that day. :) Well, for this trip, I was quite lucky to be able to win from Jackpot. Last time, I don't like or believe that people can win from Jackpot. Now I do.. ha ha ha! Bought a pair of Jeans, 3 T-shirts from Soda and also a ring for myself with the winnings and gave some to my mum to cover up for her loses..
This trip to Genting, Rachel learned how to take pictures and she took some pictures for me. Turned out to be quite okay. :) She has got such fun being the photographer. Kept telling me that she wanted to go to the Suite Lobby as there were different types of settings and we are able to take pictures there. Normally, when we took pictures, we will count 1,2.3, for Rachel, she has her own style, which is: Are you ready? The moment you said yes, she clicked! Sigh.. so fast....
This coming Christmas, we may be going up again. I told Rachel that and she was so happy and excited. She said she love Genting so much! I told her that if I do get BIG FAT BONUS in December, I will bring her to HK Disney instead of Genting. Her eyes sparkled when she heard that... as she will be able to see her favourite Princesses..... Cinderella, Snow White and now Belle. :) Praying very hard for the BIG FAT BONUS.. Must work harder from now till December.. hee hee hee
Now, getting prepare to go Beijing on 17 - 21 September. Praying hard that will strike another first prize for the expenses for this trip. Ha ha ha!

Recently, I did some shifting in my office. Sigh.. It seems that everywhere I join, sure got shifting of office to do.
Have with effect form 30 July 07, so-called upgraded to sit inside the room. Of cos, my boss is the one paying the rental for the room. I am currently sharing the room with his ex-room mate (a lady) and also an adviser. Plus point is I get a room to work in, more privacy and most importantly is this room is very far away from my boss room. :) But then, if my room mate has any appointment in the office, I will have to move out of the room to work for that few hours. Well, don't think that's quite often cos this room mate of min, first of all, seldom comes in to the office. Secondly, according to her, her appointments are mostly in the evenings. :)
I had another new admin girl and driver under my wings wef today. That will keep me very very busy again. Not that I'm very free for the past 2 weeks. I will have to co-ordinate and monitor my 'hands and legs' while working, find for things for them to do. Sigh.. More work for me, Well, for today, I find that my admin girl is quite good. On her first day of work, she actually stayed till 9pm in the office to finish up her work for today. Keeping my fingers crossed that such these 2 new staffs will stay much longer with the company. And of cos, the room will be very cramp with so many of us sitting inside. Maybe much later, we will have to do some adjustments to the seating arrangements again.

Have with effect form 30 July 07, so-called upgraded to sit inside the room. Of cos, my boss is the one paying the rental for the room. I am currently sharing the room with his ex-room mate (a lady) and also an adviser. Plus point is I get a room to work in, more privacy and most importantly is this room is very far away from my boss room. :) But then, if my room mate has any appointment in the office, I will have to move out of the room to work for that few hours. Well, don't think that's quite often cos this room mate of min, first of all, seldom comes in to the office. Secondly, according to her, her appointments are mostly in the evenings. :)

Our new toys
Today, Rachel got to meet her father as he said he has got a gift for Rachel. It's a Barbie Princess Castle. I met him at the coffeeshop instead as I do not wish to let him know where exactly I'm currently staying. When Rachel saw him, she stared blankly at him and held on to my hands so tightly. I asked if she likes the Castle that "Ga-Ga Uncle" bought for her, she said yes. Told her to say thank you and she did, after which, she stared at him again. Less than 5 mins, he went off already. During that 5 mins, he didn't talk much to Rachel also. I think, he doesn't know what to say to her also.
After he went off, Rachel began to relax herself. I asked if she remembered him. She shook her head. She even asked if she has met him before! She really got no impression of him at all. Well, cant blame her as she only met him 2 times since she was 1 year old.
When we reached home, she was very excited about the new toy. Both of us started to assemble the toy. Actually, not much to assemble also as he has already done so for us. We just got to put up the little decorations.

She has been very supportive of whatever I do in my life, be it my studies, getting married and later divorce, purchase of flat and my even current job. Thank you very much, Aunt Priscilla.

Rachel's Growing Up..
Last week, I was feeling extremely tired, and a bit of depressed. I guessed it was mainly due to work stress. I think it was sometime last Tues / Wed, I was feeling extremely lousy. Came back home, had dinner downstairs and as usual, I went back home first, leaving Rachel and Jon with my mum, to play with their friends downstairs.
Went Rachel came back home around 10+pm, after she had her bath, she went about to do her own writings and drawings. I called her but she just replied 'yes?' I told her, "Today Mummy feel very sad." Immediately, she dropped what she was doing, gave me her full attention, came over and sit on my lap and started asking why I was feeling sad. Is it because of my boss? Or what?
I told her, don't know leh. Maybe no one love me? Maybe it's my work lor. So many things to do and I'm so tired. So I was feeling sad lor. She immediately hugged and patted me and told me: "Mummy, I love you a lot. You don't be sad okay?" I was touched by her small gestures and wow.. of course, my heart felt so warm and happy. After a while, I told her to get ready to sleep as she has got school the next day. In our room, after I switched off the lights, she came over to me again, gave me a big kiss and hug and told me to sleep early. I felt like a small kid!
The next day after work, I went to the coffeeshop to join them and also to have my dinner. Rachel saw me, ran towards me with her sticky hands. I asked her what she wanted to do? Her hands were so sticky and she better don't touch me. She replied : "I want to hug you mah. Yesterday you feel sad, so today I want to give you a big hug again." I was so touched and yet ashamed as I told her not to touch me with her sticky hands earlier. I told her it's okay, later she go home, after she bathe then give me her big hug. Luckily she was okay with it.
Even when I went out partying with my friends last Friday, she called me around 11+pm saying that she wanted me to go home earlier. Told her will go back soon. She said okay and hang up. After she hang up, she told my mum that she's going to sleep in the living room and wait for me. So when I came back home at almost 1am, I saw her sleeping alone in the living room, I knew she was waiting for me. Felt a bit guilty for staying out late.
I realised that Rachel has indeed matured a lot. Learning to love and care. What more can I complain about her?? Well.. maybe still her single eyelid eyes.. :P

Getting very tired and stressful at work... :(
Recently I have been feeling very very tired especially after work.. almost like brain dead by 5.30pm. After work, at times I still got to meet the clients to get some forms signed and by the time I reached home it's almost 9-ish pm. Tired man!
Met one of my friends after work yesterday for dinner. She was actually so stressed up with her work that she had got mild depression. Luckily, she has already resigned from that job. My God! I think I better start to think of ways to de-stress myself before I get myself in the same situation as her. Those who knows me long enough will know that I used to go partying, drinking almost like 3-4 days a week, to de-stress myself. But at the current situation.. with a kid and working so late, I don't seems to have that privilege again. Sigh!
Sometimes, my boss will call or sms me at night or weekends to leave instructions for things to be done etc. Calling me once he think of something, and not accumulating a list of things before calling me. Sigh! Sometimes, I will get as many as 10 calls from him within 2 hrs. In the office, already got piles and piles of work to be done. Sigh..
How I envy my dear friend, Eve... SAHM, playing with baby, relaxing herself.. Oh! How I miss my confinement days... sob..sob.. Well, if I can find a good man, I don't mind being a SAHM!! :P But then again, I bet I won't be able to be one that stay at home for long..
So, what do I really want???? I myself at this moment also don't know. Maybe time to plan another break... to get away from my stressful work.

Meaning of Rachel
Rachel (Hebrew) : female sheep. Bible : the wife of Jacob.
I like this name as Rachel was born in the year of Goat.. suits her (female sheep) ;P As for her Chinese name, 黄静儿, it means quiet. It was chosen based on her Ba-zi. Quite a few names were given by the Master, but I have always like the character 儿 and according to the Master, Rachel has a quick temper, she's straightforward and she will tends to offend people in future by her words when she works. So it's better to have a name that tame and quieten her down.
Now at the age of 3 yrs 7 mths, she's already talking non-stop at times and kept asking why this and that? How come? etc... At times, I wondered if her name doesn't works for her??
Now that she's learning to write her Chinese name, I sort of regretted choosing
a character with so many strokes for her. Too tedious for me to teach her :( So far, she has managed to write her surname. Phew! It's really not easy teaching kids to write.. still got 2 more characters to go...

Another Genting Trip...
Another Genting holidays for my family.. sigh.. cause at this moment, that's the only place I can afford to pay for all of us. No choice. :)
This trip we had got 7 of us - big group. my aunt, mum, sister, Jonathan, Rachel, one of my mum's friend and me. First day all of us squeezed into a Superior Deluxe Rm. Not that difficult cos we brought down 1 mattress and did some shifting in the room.. and hor.. for us adults, whenever we went up, not much time is spent on sleeping. :) Especially my mum's friend. We arrived at Genting around 3.30pm and by 4+pm she was off to the Casino. Didnt went back to the room till 9+Ppm, took a nap, bath and off to the Casino again till the next night. When we went back to the hotel at 5am, she was not in the room liao.. off to the Casino again. She didnt went back to the room till the next afternoon for a shower only.
Luckily my sister went with us because her son, Jonathan, wanted to go. I guessed, this will be the one and only time I'm bringing him. He was so naughty and sad to say, unbearable behaviour! Only wanted to play at the Arcade, whatever things he wanted to buy must buy on the spot, refused to eat the whole day (and his mum also cant be bothered). When we told him that we will go shopping for a while, he will start throwing his tantrums, screaming, shouting, pinching or pulling Rachel's hands or legs. Sigh.. even at times, Rachel got frustrated and pissed off with him. Once, he started to kick me in one of the shops we were shopping at. I got pissed off and was very angry that I kicked him back twice with force. The salesman was stunned and watched with his mouth opened. Few minutes later, Jonathan started to cry.
Now that Rachel knew how to play one of their games.. Love and Berry. It was a dress up and dance games and she got to collect a card for every game. As for Jon, he played the King of Beetles game, which is a Scissor, paper stone game.
For our 2nd Day, my cousin, who happened to be at Genting also, managed to get a suite at Genting Highland Hotel. He asked us to move over, so all of us except my mum's friend, moved over. Nice and spacious room. The 2 kids were excited about the new room and there was a Jacuzzi in the bathroom.
This time round, I dont have much luck with Roulette lei.. :( so didnt play much also. First time went up to Genting, I spent my time playing Jackpot. First day won a bit, second day, lost a bit, last day won a little big. Overall still lost a bit. :(
The last day... happy for us because can stop Jon's nonsenses.. sad for Rachel and Jon cos they wanted to play more of the Arcade games.
Five Stars Holidays upgraded up our return coach to Executive Class. It was a 16 seater coach with massage seats, personal entertainment TV with games. Very spacious and initially my mum was still grumbling that got to climb up the stairs etc. Once up the coach, she was so happy and speechless. Luckily with the games features, we managed to keep Jonathan happy and quiet throughout the way back to Sin.

Sand Art..
Today, my sister, Pauline, wanted to bring Jonathan out shopping. She said long time didn't bring her son out already. Anyway, today her bf is working overtime and she's bored too.
She went to fetch Jon home around 3+pm. Due to the heavy rain, we only set out around 5pm.. in time for dinner too. We went to IMM. Over there while we were having our dinner, the kids went to do Sand Art. This is the first time the kids are doing it. Rachel enjoyed the session. She was supposed to share the Pokemon picture with Jon but in the end, she refused to let Jon participate in the process. No choice, my mum paid for another pic - Ultraman for Jon.
For Rachel, she wants her pic to have every colors in it. As for Jon, his colors are quite limited. But I guess both pics turned out quite okay. Rachel even told me that she wants to do it again. Very fun and she likes it. :)

Learning to Write
Recently the learning bug has been biting Rachel. :) Last Saturday, she took her notebook and asked me how to spell and write her name. Wow! I was glad man! Bcos I don't have to force her to learn how to write her own name. And since then she just concentrated on writing her own name. By now, she already know how to spell and write. She even showed her teacher that she can write her own name. Teacher of cos, was impressed and even commented "Well Done!" which kept her happy and proud the whole day.
Her current hobby is blowing bubbles. Almost every weekend she will insist that I allow her to bring the bottle soap water downstairs to let her play after breakfast/ lunch / dinner. Sigh.. Well, I rather let her bring it downstairs to blow then blow in my house. :)

Welcome to this world.. Princess Faith...
This morning at 9.26am, received a sms from my best friend, Eve's SIL - Astee asking if I have heard the good news from Eve. I called her after I received the sms. Was told that Eve has given birth to her baby this early morning. I asked Astee what's the baby's gender but was told to make a guess.. My guess was Girl! Bingo! Ha..ha.. I was right! :) Asked Astee for Louis HP number and sent him a congratulatory sms. He called me shortly after and we spoke for a while. Eve was still drowsy after the C-section, baby was fine too. According to Louis, baby looks like him. Louis was really happy! Laughing while he was talking! So happy for the both of them! Congratulations again my dear friends! I was so happy the whole day after I heard the good news. :D
As for Princess Faith... Welcome to this world! A lot of people will be showering their love and care upon you.. including us, Auntie Eileen and Rachel jie jie. :) See you soon...

Finally.. time to blog..
Wow.. it's been "donkey years" since the last time I did any posting.
Recently just applied for Broadband access at home, cos my tenant wanted to use Internet, we agreed to share the cost equally. Well, there are pros and cons having this Internet access at home.. pros are you can go online to check anything you want, access emails 24/7 now and chat online.. cons.. boss will call you even on Sat and Sun.. to check this client's contact for me now and sms me.. :( then mum and Jon kept asking.. what new games to play online??? Never-ending...
Recently, Rachel has started to learn writing alphabets in school. Good thing is at least she will continue practicing writing the alphabets at home after school, though not everyday which I hoped. Instead of starting from A - Z, her teacher actually chose the easiest to start with.. F (down, side, side), E (down, side, side, side), B (Down, small tummy, big tummy),R (fastest alphabet learnt - cos it's for Rachel!) H (two friends holding hands),I, J, M, and latest is W. Tried getting books with dotted lines to guide her in writing.. after 2 rows of writing, Rachel started complaining... My hand very tired already. Don't want to write anymore.
Now, I'm starting her on numbers.. only write 1 and that's it. Tried writing 2 but after the dotted lines ended, she also ends the writing of 2. Brought her to library to borrow some books, DVDs and PC-Rom Discs. Not very interested in reading the books, mainly because she still doesn't know how to read. PC-Rom programmes/games are a bit too advance for her as she hasn't learnt all the alphabets yet. So still interested in just watching DVDs... now into Sesame Street.
Sometimes I felt that I'm quite a "kiasu" mum. Expecting Rachel to be able to read and write at the age of 3. But then on the other hand, there are already some children doing much more than Rachel. I brought her to Yamaha Music School, showing her children learning music. I asked her if she felt the children are playing very good? She said yes.. then I proceed with my next question.. Do you want to be like them? So clever? Can play so well? Answer : NO! I don't want! Well, was quite disappointed with her prompt and immediate answer then. :( But no worries, I will still try to get her to learn music.. Cos it was so-called proven scientifically that children who learnt music are much better in their studies next time. :)

New Desktop & War at Home
Got my desktop last Friday and it has been a nightmare since then. :(
I bought 2 games, Majong Solitaire and Crystallize (games is like Bejeweled 2) to download at home to play. Bought a Reading Program Disc for Rachel as well. Initially, first 2 days was still quite okay. But on Sunday nite when Jonathan came back from his dad's place, aiyoh! It's war time.
Rachel do not allow Jon to play and they were screaming at each other bcos both of them are snatching the mouse and pushing each other off the chair. Once, Rachel was so angry when Jon refused to let her play, she started boxing him till he cried. Poor boy!
Since Monday till now, every morning, Jon woke up very early, wash up and change into school uniform, next thing is he's at the desktop playing games. Best part was my mum, instead of getting Rachel ready for school, she was standing beside Jon, watching and telling Jon where to click etc. Sigh! So now, every morning, I got to rush them out of the house.
Then comes evening time, both kids will rush through their dinner and homework for JOn. After that quarrelling starts, over the PC again. Sigh..
Not too sure if it's a good thing to have a desktop at home now.. :(

Rachel do not allow Jon to play and they were screaming at each other bcos both of them are snatching the mouse and pushing each other off the chair. Once, Rachel was so angry when Jon refused to let her play, she started boxing him till he cried. Poor boy!
Since Monday till now, every morning, Jon woke up very early, wash up and change into school uniform, next thing is he's at the desktop playing games. Best part was my mum, instead of getting Rachel ready for school, she was standing beside Jon, watching and telling Jon where to click etc. Sigh! So now, every morning, I got to rush them out of the house.
Then comes evening time, both kids will rush through their dinner and homework for JOn. After that quarrelling starts, over the PC again. Sigh..
Not too sure if it's a good thing to have a desktop at home now.. :(

9th day at Work..
I have been working here for 9 days.. but it seemed like I have been here for months. So tireeeeed..... :(
Now for the time being, (I think this week only, hopefully) I have to work from my boss' house in the morning, to setup his clients files, and in the afternoon, back in the office or out to meet clients.
For the past few days, I'm only in the office for like 2-3 hours! Running about like an adviser. I think I met more clients than my ex-colleagues. Some how, I missed the office desk-bound job.. but definitely not the FILINGS!

My First 2 Days @ Work
Started work in my new office yesterday. Was late on my first day! Reached office at 9.15am.. Phew! What a start!
Yesterday was a busy day.. since morning. Calling the insurers to find out clients' policies details etc. Lunch with my ex-agent, Linda Lee. She wanted to buy me my farewell lunch. After lunch went to Sim Lim Square to buy namecard scanner for my boss. Afternoon, doing the insurance summary for one of the clients. Took me around 1 hr to do it.. too slow for my standard. :( By the time I finished all the things, 6pm liao... Time to knock off liao.
At around 2pm, I received a call from my ex-boss. She said my replacement girl tendered her resignation. My God! Me here starting work first day, over there was my replacement's last day of work. New secretary claimed that she cant take the workload there. Too much work to do, and messy filings. Told my ex-boss that filings, cant be helped. It's not messy as files were all labelled.. Just that all the papers not filed in yet, so it's messy. ;P She said ya.. she understand. When I was there, I really got no time to do especially if she's running for her sales. So now, she has got to do all the things herself.
Today, second day at work.. Quite boring. Nothing much to do lei. My boss running in and out of the office. He's going for his reservist next week and therefore got to do his sales by this week. He told me:"Sorry hor.. this week you got to swim on your own here. I'm too busy to coach you." Good for me lor.. no government here! ;) But if this continues, I will be very, very bored.
My office environment here.. young agents but they dont seems to be very friendly type. Luckily I do have friends here. They will drop by and chat with me for a while, or if I do need some help, I can approach them. :) Cannot eat/munch in the office. So I'm going to lose more weight! Die lah! Cannot munch! Well, but i dont care.. anyway, munch only in the afternoon after the cleaning lady go home. Ha..ha..
Yesterday morning, I took a packet of biscuit at my desk, cos I didnt know about the rules yet. The cleaning lady came and told m
e that I cant even eat biscuits at my desk I was quite shocked! Well, since then, she has been watching me with her eagle eyes!
My boss room is located like 8 rooms away from where I'm sitting. He will intercom me as and when and I have to walk over to his room.. First day of work already got blister on my feet. Asked my boss if I can wear slippers here. He said ok, except when I'm meeting clients. No problem at all man! He..he..
My desk space is so small.. so miserable compared to the one that I used to have. Only got space to put a laptop and some papers.. that's it liao..
Overall here, it seems okay.. but a bit boring lor.. I miss my ex-colleagues!! :(
